NEW DELHI: Samyukta Kisan Morcha (SKM) and various labour organizations have called for a bandh against central government policies. The 'Gramin Bharat Bandh' will be held from 6 am to 4 pm on Friday.

Roadblocks have also been called for in major cities of the country from 12 pm to 4 pm. Ambulances, newspaper delivery, marriages, medical shops and examinations are exempted from the strike.

However, there will be no disruption to people's lives in Kerala. State Samara Samithi Co-ordination chairman and secretary of Kerala Farmers Sangam M Vijayakumar informed that there will be a protest in front of Raj Bhavan and the district centres at 10 am.

The bandh is part of the ongoing farmers' strike in Delhi. The bandh was called last December. Farmers' organizations have stated that agricultural and NREGA jobs will be stopped. Only emergency services are excluded.

Farmers organized the 'Dilli Chalo' march demanding support price. The farmers' organizations are also raising demands such as withdrawal of farmers' pension, OPS and agricultural law amendments.
