BENGALURU: Summer rains have wreaked havoc in Bengaluru after a tragic wall collapse at Bowring Hospital left seven dead. Rains are continuing in many parts of the city, while social media made the city trending due to the hailstorm, which turned mundane streets into picturesque spots.

Many residents of the city said that they have never seen anything like this phenomenon ever, and doubted this to be the effect of El Niño.

Many netizens shared photos of the hail they collected from their homes and workplaces. The IMD reported that the temperature in Bengaluru city fell to 18 degrees Celsius with wind speed reaching 78 kmph. IMD has warned of another hailstorm in the city on April 30th.

Netizens also shared images of Kanteerva stadium filled with while hails as the temperature dropped yesterday.

Meanwhile, there are also reports that many bookshops functioning in Church Street were severely hit in the rain yesterday after water clogged into shops, damaging as many as 5000 books. The hailstorm also battered the roads in the MG Road area, forcing commuters to immediately take shelter in nearby roads.
