ALAPPUZHA: Due to non-payment of dues at petrol pumps, the police who are suffering from lack of fuel, do not have money to change the tires of their vehicles.

Most of the old vehicles were destroyed. Due to arrears, tire shop owners are also not helping.

About three crore rupees have to be paid towards the purchase of tires from various shops in the state. Over Rs 23 crore is due at pumps across the state.

Each station has more than half a dozen vehicles, big and small, but now only half of these vehicles are given half the fuel they used to be.

Since last September, not a single rupee has been allocated for fuel expenses from the police headquarters. According to the police, only the arrears at the Indian Oil Corporation pump were allowed the other day.

Except for the new vehicles at the stations, many of the vehicles that are more than ten years old have no tires.

Crores are spent every year to buy a new vehicle

According to the new projects, the consumption of vehicles and fuel has increased

As the financial year comes to an end, the situation will worsen in the coming days
