KOZHIKODE: Congress leader K Muraleedharan expressed his readiness to face a strong opponent in the upcoming elections, acknowledging K K Shailaja as a formidable contender for the Vadakara constituency. Muraleedharan emphasized the importance of a fair contest, regardless of the candidate chosen by the CPM.

'I like facing tough opponents. If it's Shailaja teacher, she's strong. Let CPM pick. I've won tough contests before. I'll win this one too.'- said Muralidharan.

Responding to recent incidents of wild animal attacks in Wayanad, Muraleedharan criticized the government's handling of the situation. He highlighted the plight of farmers who face challenges due to wildlife encroachment and expressed concern over the ineffective measures taken, such as capturing and tagging elephants with radio collars.
