NEDUMANGAD: Siddharth's family wants those responsible for the death of Siddharth, student of Pookode Veterinary University, to be charged with murder. "Arif Muhammad Khan is the governor with a spine who took action against the vice-chancellor. Immediate action should be taken against the college dean and assistant warden", Siddharth's father Jayaprakash said.

VC could have taken action against Dean, but it didn't happen. The VC had come to the house and assured that action would be taken against those behind the incident. When the VC was suspended, I realized what the assurance was given to me. However, the governor kept his promise.

Although 18 accused have been arrested in the case, trivial charges have been charged against them. All should be charged with murder. Jayaprakash told 'Kerala Kaumudi' that one more person, who is not yet in the picture, has to be the main accused and the officer investigating the case has been informed about this. Everyone knows the political leadership that is protecting the accused. If justice is denied, we will start fasting in front of the Chief Minister's residence.

Leaders visited

Political leaders also came to Jayaprakash's house yesterday to console him and his family.

MPs Shashi Tharoor, Adoor Prakash, BJP leader Prakash Javadekar, Chandy Oommen MLA, VS Shivakumar, Palode Ravi, CP John, Cherian Philip and Mathew Kuzhalnathan MLA, KS Sabarinathan, RSP leader Shibu Baby John, Yuva Morcha state president Prafulkrishna and others came.

Central agency should investigate: Tharoor

Shashi Tharoor MP said that Siddharth's death should be investigated by central agencies. "I'm not a fan of Centre, but Siddharth's father's wish is the same. A judicial inquiry should be conducted into the politics of violence on campuses', he said.
