Siddharth's death; evidence collection with main accused at veterinary university hostel

WAYANAD: Regarding the death of second year student Siddharth, evidence was collected with the main accused at Pookode Veterinary University campus. The police collected evidence with the first accused, Sinjo Johnson, from room number 21 of the hostel and from the courtyard. A group led by Kalpetta DYSP TN Sajeev reached the hostel.

The glue gun used for harming Siddharth was found in Sinjo's presence. The remand report of the accused arrested in Siddharth's death was released. According to the remand report, Siddharth was brutally beaten up during the mob trial in the hostel.

In the campus, problems used to be settled in the hostel. Siddharth, who reached Ernakulam for this, was called to settle the girl's complaint. Siddharth was threatened that a police case would be filed against him if he went ahead with legal action. It was Danish who called Siddharth from Rahan's phone. Siddharth was brutally beaten after being summoned. He was unjustly detained in the hostel room since morning.

At night they took him to different places on the campus and beat him up. The beating took place in the courtyard of the hostel too. He was beaten in his underwear. The thrashing was done with cable wire and belt. According to the remand report, the public trial was held till two in the morning which humiliated Siddharth and the act of the accused is what instigated the death. On February 18, Siddharth was found hanging in the bathroom of the hostel.
