Modi donates to BJP election fund, requests everyone to contribute

NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given election funds to his own party ahead of the Lok Sabha elections. Narendra Modi has appealed to everyone to participate in the campaign called contribution for nation building.

"I am happy to donate and strengthen our efforts to build the nation. I request everyone to be a part of the campaign via Namo app!," PM posted on X along with the receipt of the donation to the party. The PM donated Rs 2,000 as an election donation to his own party. On March 1, the campaign was launched by BJP National President JP Nadda by donating Rs 1000.

BJP was able to mobilize Rs 719 crore in funding for the 2022-2023 financial year. This is 17 percent higher than the previous year. In 2021-2022, the party received Rs 614 crore in donations.

At the same time, the contribution to Congress has declined from Rs 95.4 crore in FY 2021-2022 to Rs 79 crore in FY 2022-2023.
