New VC visits Siddharth's parents, assures flawless investigation

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The newly appointed Vice Chancellor, Dr PC Sashindran, visited the family of the Siddharth, who was found dead in the Pookode Veterinary University Hostel in Nedumangadu. Dr. Sashindran assured Siddharth's parents of a thorough investigation into the incident during his visit at 6 pm yesterday. He made the visit before assuming his new position and also traveled to Wayanad today.

Actor Suresh Gopi, who visited Siddharth's house yesterday morning, called for the arrest of the Vice Chancellor in connection with the incident. He pledged support to Siddharth's family and demanded a CBI investigation into the matter. BJP leader Kummanam Rajasekharan echoed the demand for a central agency probe.

Meanwhile, clashes erupted during a march organized by the Yuva Morcha at the secretariat, protesting the alleged negligence of the police in apprehending the suspects involved in Siddharth's death. The police used water cannons to disperse the activists, resulting in injuries, including District General Secretary Abhijith. BJP District Vice President R S Rajiv accused the police of shielding suspects affiliated with the SFI, alleging that the ruling party is attempting to downplay the severity of the incident.
