Two arrested for moral policing in Ayiravalli Para

KOLLAM: Two people were arrested for moral policing college students who came to visit Ayiravalli Para in Kollam. Anwar Sadat of Kuzhiyam Nadira Mansil and Baiju of Manjapara Puthanveetil, natives of Ayoor, were arrested in the incident. Both of them are fishmongers. A case has been registered against them under the section for insulting womanhood. The accused who were produced in the court were later remanded.

The students who arrived at the tourist spot to celebrate their friend’s birthday were subjected to moral policing and uncouth behaviour from the two culprits. There were also many girls in the group. The two accused who were in a booze state shouted obscenities at the students for no reason. The boys from the gang questioned this behavior which irked the two accused, as they took up a wooden plank from the spot and thrashed the gang. Albeit this, the two also tried to injure the gang using a lethal weapon.

By the time the locals heard the screams of the girls, the accused had escaped. The accused were later found by the police based on a complaint. The vehicle used by the fishmongers was also taken into custody.
