'Asked water, sneaked inside apartment..'; Engineer fights off Swiggy delivery boy's rape attempt

BENGALURU: A woman from Bengaluru has complained of assault from a man who came to deliver food ordered through an app. Police arrested Akash (27), a native of Kalburgi, on the complaint of a 30-year-old software engineer. The incident took place on March 17 at 6:30 am.

Akash who reached the apartment to deliver Dosa ordered by the customer soon asked for a glass of water. The woman helped the delivery boy with water and soon he left. Shockingly, Akash returned to the apartment asking the woman if she would mind him using the restroom. After getting permission to use the toilet, Akash got inside the apartment but asked for water again which raised suspicion in the woman. She asked Akash to wait outside the apartment. This time, Akash refused to move out and charged ahead with assault.

The woman shouted but it didn’t deter Akash from unleashing his demon side. Soon, the woman took up courage and got hold of a bowl which she used to smack the culprit's head. With this, Akash scampered away from the apartment. The woman immediately complained to the police. Akash was arrested by the police after an investigation focused on the location of the phone.
