Kerala Kalamandalam invites RLV Ramakrishnan to perform Mohiniyattam

THRISSUR: Kerala Kalamandalam invited dancer RLV Ramakrishnan to perform Mohiniyattam. He will perform the art form at the Koothambalam of Kalamandalam on Saturday at 5 pm. Ramakrishnan said that this is the first time that he is getting an opportunity to perform in Kalamandalam. Ramakrishnan was a research student at Kalamandalam.

Kalamandalam directly invited RLV Ramakrishnan to perform the dance following the racial slur by Kalamandalam Satyabhama. RLV Ramakrishnan had yesterday rejected Suresh Gopi's invitation to perform a dance at his family temple.

Sathyabhama's remarks against Ramakrishnan was in an interview given to a YouTube channel. When it sparked a controversy, many came forward supporting Ramakrishnan. The human rights commission then filed a case against Sathyabhama and Kalamandalam itself had turned against her.
