Veterinary University Vice-Chancellor Dr PC Saseendran resigns; resignation due to personal reasons

WAYANAD: Dr PC Saseendran, the new Vice-Chancellor of Pookode Veterinary University has resigned. Saseendran submitted his resignation letter to Governor Arif Mohammad Khan. Saseendran responded that the resignation is due to personal reasons. Saseendran was given the charge after former VC MR Saseendranath was replaced in connection with the death of university student Siddharth.

Governor Arif Mohammad Khan had directed the VC to withdraw the cancellation of the suspension of the accused students in the case related to Siddharth's death. The governor had also asked for a detailed report on the lifting of the suspension.

Siddharth's family had also come out with strong criticism against the withdrawal of suspension of 33 students who faced action for ragging Siddharth.

Vice Chancellor had taken back 33 students, including the students of the senior batch, against whom the anti-ragging committee had taken action. Father Jayaprakash also said that the government tried to silence the protests by announcing a CBI probe and he doubts if justice will be served in Siddharth's death.
