Erode MP Ganeshamoorthy who attempted suicide, dies

CHENNAI: Erode MP A Ganeshamoorthy, who attempted suicide after being denied a seat in Tamil Nadu, died early Thursday morning. He died of cardiac arrest at a private hospital in Coimbatore at around 5 am today.
MDMK party leader Ganeshamoorthy contested the general elections on DMK symbol and won in 2019. This time, MDMK denied him a seat and Udayanidhi's nominee K A Prakash is contesting in Erode as a DMK candidate.
Ganeshamoorthy was found unconscious in his room at around 2.30 am last Sunday. He was then taken to a private hospital in Erode and later shifted to Coimbatore for specialist treatment. He attempted suicide by consuming pesticide.
