ALAPPUZHA: The sea has receded on the coast of Purakkad. The sea started receding from 10 in the morning. Sludge has filled the area. This is the second such phenomenon in ten days.

This time, this phenomenon occurred at a width of about 30 meters from the area where the sea had receded. Most of the fishing boats have returned. Due to silt, some boats were brought close to Thottapally shore.

When this phenomenon occurred earlier, experts said that it could be caused by Rossby waves. Meantime, the sea had receded before the tsunami that rocked the country on December 26, 2004. Then the wave hit hard. It is reported that this has raised concern among people.
