MUMBAI: Mumbai Indians batsman Tim David and batting coach Kieron Pollard have been fined by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for violating the code of conduct in the IPL. Both accepted the charges and were fined 20 percent of their match fee. The action follows an incident that took place during the match against Punjab Kings last Thursday. The incident occurred while Mumbai was batting against Punjab in the match.

Arshdeep Singh's last ball of the 15th over was a wide yorker. Suryakumar Yadav was at the crease. Although the umpire did not signal it as a wide, the recorded footage revealed that it was indeed wide. Meanwhile, David and Kieron Pollard gestured to Suryakumar Yadav to request a review. Subsequently, Suryakumar asked for a review. Upon review by the third umpire, it was confirmed that the delivery was wide.

Under Article 2.15 (b) of the IPL Code of Conduct for Cricketers and Team Officials, seeking outside assistance in conducting a review is deemed inappropriate. Action was taken in accordance with this rule.
