A total of 1200 kg of ganja was seized from them in a search operation led by Taliparamba Inspector ML Bennilalu and members of the anti-narcotics squad led by the rural district police chief. The locals were suspicious after they noticed many migrant workers visiting the quarters during late night hours.

This information was transferred to the anti-narcotics squad of the district police chief. Following this, the District Anti-Narcotics Special Action Force (DANSAF) continued a close watch on the quarters and the people visiting them. It is also learned that the racket mostly employs women to sell ganja to customers. It is to avoid the scrutinizing eyes of police that the racket mostly employs women dealers for the business. The banned ganja materials brought from other states are now rampantly distributed in Taliparamaba town and Manna region.
