Heavy rains likely for next five days in Kerala, yellow alert declared

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Met Department has warned of isolated summer rains for the next five days in Kerala. Southern districts of the states are likely to receive strong rains till May 14. There is a possibility of thunderstorms in the evening and strong winds. However, fishing is not banned along the Kerala coast.

Yellow alert is declared in Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Ernakulam, Idukki on May 12 and in Pathanamthitta and Idukki on May 13. Temperatures have dropped by 3 to 4 degrees Celsius in places that got summer rains.
