Former Bihar Deputy CM Sushil Kumar Modi passes away

NEW DELHI: Senior BJP leader and former Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi passed away on Monday evening. He was 72 years old. He breathed his last at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in Delhi while undergoing treatment for cancer.
Sushil Kumar Modi was the most popular face of BJP in Bihar. He had earlier stated that he wouldn't be contesting the Lok Sabha elections this time due to his health condition. He stayed away from election campaigns due to illness.
He served as Deputy Chief Minister in the Nitish Kumar Cabinet for 11 years in two phases between 2005 and 2020. Senior BJP leaders Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh and Ravi Shankar Prasad have condoled the demise of Sushil Kumar Modi.
