PATNA: The Ram Temple in Ayodhya was one of the major poll promises of the BJP and it has become a reality. Now, Union Minister Amit Shah has made another major promise in an election rally in Bihar regarding the construction of a temple for Goddess Sita in Sitamarhi.

“We, the BJP don't get scared of the 'vote bank'. PM Modi has built the temple of Ram Lalla in Ayodhya now the work that is left is to build a great memorial at the birthplace of Ma Sita. Those who kept themselves away from Ram temple can't do this, but if someone can build a temple as ideal as the life of Ma Sita, it's Narendra Modi, it's BJP,” Amit Shah said.

According to Hindu mythology, Sita, the wife of Lord Ram, came to life out of an earthen pot, when Raja Janak was ploughing the field near Sitamarhi. This is one of the 40 constituencies in Bihar that goes to polls in the fifth phase of Lok Sabha elections on May 20. The NDA had won 39 out of 40 seats in the Lok Sabha election in 2019.
