NEW DELHI: Even after ten years as the Prime Minister of the country, Narendra Modi has not held a single press conference, allegedly fearing questions from the media. Prime Minister Modi has now responded to this allegation leveled against him by the opposition.

He stated that media interaction works only one way and he was never interested in this method, which is why he has not held press conferences or given interviews. Modi also mentioned that there has been a significant change in how the media operates compared to the past and he is not interested in following this pattern.

He clarified that while others might participate in inaugurations and hold press conferences to share pictures with the media, he prefers to visit villages and implement small projects building a new culture. Modi said the media can accept it if they want, emphasizing that he has to work hard and visit the homes of poor families.

Meanwhile, opposition parties allege that the country's media operates at the behest of the Modi government and that corporatization has taken place in this sector. They also accuse the media of being afraid to inform the general public about the BJP government's misdeeds.
