Phase 5 of LS polls to be held across 49 constituencies on Monday

NEW DELHI: In the fifth phase of the Lok Sabha elections, 49 constituencies in six states and two Union Territories will go to the polling booth today. Among the seven phases of voting, the fifth phase has the least number of constituencies. There are 695 candidates in 49 constituencies in Bihar(5), Jharkhand(3), Maharashtra(13), Odisha(5), Uttar Pradesh(14), West Bengal(7) and Baramulla in Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh constituency. There are 94,732 polling stations and 8.95 crore eligible voters.
Meanwhile, authorities on Saturday imposed curfew in Jammu and Kashmir's Kupwara and Baramulla districts ahead of the polls. District Magistrates of Baramulla and Kupwara districts imposed restrictions from 6 pm on Saturday for 72 hours.
