Malayali soldier drowns in Cherrapunji

ATHOLI: In a tragic incident, a Malayali soldier drowned to death while taking a bath in a waterfall in Cherrapunji. The deceased is Atholi native Aneesh (42), who was a havildar in the army. The accident took place while Aneesh and his family were visiting Lyngksiar Falls in Cherrapunji. The accident happened at around 3.30 pm on Sunday.

Aneesh went to Meghalaya with his family on May 12. He joined the army in 2004. The relatives said that the body would be brought home by air at 1.30 on Tuesday afternoon. Mother: Yashoda, and wife: Sajina. Children: Avantika and Ananthu.
