Mohanlal unveils 'Khureshi-Ab’raam' on birthday, sets social media ablaze
Malayalam superstar Mohanlal is celebrating his 64th birthday today. Wishes are coming in torrents from fans across all quarters. The actor, now on a small hiatus from acting to concentrate on his directorial debut, rekindled the spirit among his fans on Tuesday by revealing the first poster of his upcoming movie L2: Empuraan. Mohanlal comes as the underworld kingpin Khureshi-Ab’raam in the movie.
In the poster, the actor is seen walking amidst an entourage of security personnel in a hazy background. The film will be released in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Hindi languages and is directed by actor Prithviraj. Empuraan’s prequel Lucifer which was released in 2019 broke all records of the time in Mollywood. Since the announcement of the sequel, fans have been gripped with anticipation to see the superstar in the mafia don avatar.
Produced under the banner of Aashirvad Cinemas, Empuraan has Tamil production company Lyca Productions as its production partner. Written by Murali Gopi the cinematography is handled by Sujith Vasudev.
After shooting in Thiruvananthapuram, Empuraan will shift to Kochi and Gujarat. Manju Warrier, Tovino Thomas, Indrajith, Baiju Santhosh, Sania Iyyappan, and Sai Kumar are also reprising their roles in the sequel.
