Railways blow at peak time; southern railway announces cancellation of six trains

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The southern railway announces the cancellation of six special trains including those running in Kerala. The railways cited operational and safety reasons for the cancellation of trains. The railways act is during the peak time like holidays etc. It is estimated that the railway's move will affect the passengers as it is the month when schools are being opened and also transfers are there. Among the cancellations are four weekly trains running through Kerala.


Mangalore-Coimbatore- Mangalore weekly train (06041/06042) running on Saturdays will stop services from June 8 to 29. Services for May 25 and June 1 have been maintained.

Railways had earlier canceled special train (06075/06076) on Mangaluru - Kottayam route. The service was announced from April 20 to June 1 (on Saturdays). There was service on April 20.

Mangalore-Coimbatore Weekly Train Service (Saturday) - 06041- (June 8 to 29).
Coimbatore-Mangalore Weekly Train Service (Saturday)-06042- (June 8-29).
Kochuveli–Nizamuddin Weekly Train Service (Friday)-06071-(June 7-28).
Nizamuddin-Kochuveli Weekly Train Service (Monday)-06072-(June 10-July 1).
Chennai-Velankanni (Friday, Sunday)-06037 (June 21-30).
Velankanni-Chennai (Saturday, Monday) 06038 (June 22-July 1)
