'Did not give way for bike'; Malayali family attacked in Bengaluru, three-year-old girl injured

BENGALURU: A Malayali family was attacked in Bengaluru for allegedly not giving way for a motorbike. The assailant smashed the car in which the family was travelling. Thrissur Pazhayannur native Akhil Sabu and his family were subjected to the attack. Akhil is an employee in the IT sector.

The police have registered a case against lawyer Jagadeesh, a native of Bommasandra, on the complaint lodged by Akhil regarding the incident. Akhil was also booked by the police on a complaint lodged by Jagadeesh. The incident took place last Friday morning when Akhil was travelling in the car with his family.

The bike passenger, who was travelling behind Akhil's car, continuously honked at the car demanding a way to move forward. However, Akhil drove the car forward ignoring the repeated honking. Enraged by this, the bike passenger chased down the car and smashed the glass on the side of the car with his helmet. Akhil's family members, including his three-year-old child, were injured by the glass panes. The family immediately sought treatment at the hospital.

A similar incident had taken place in Kozhikode the other day. A youth attacked an autorickshaw driver with his helmet for not giving way for his vehicle. The incident took place in Puthiyangadi. Puthiyangadi native Soman (67) was injured in the incident. Police have taken the accused Pradeeshan (44) into custody.
