Famous food vlogger Irfan lands in soup over unborn baby's 'gender reveal video'

CHENNAI: The health department has sent a notice to a popular food vlogger for going all the way to Dubai to determine the gender of his unborn child. Prominent Tamil food vlogger Irfan took his wife to Dubai and had the prenatal gender revelation done. He also came back to Chennai and held a gender reveal party. Both the videos were shared on his YouTube channel.

In the video, Irfan clearly says that he went all the way to Dubai since gender revelation is considered illegal in India. The health department has issued a notice against Irfan for his conduct and sharing the details through his social media page.

The video posted on May 18 shows Irfan and his wife arriving at a hospital in Dubai while the video on May 2 showed the gender reveal party held in Chennai. A total of three million people have watched the two videos combined. Irfan's YouTube channel has 4.28 million subscribers.

In one earlier video, Irfan expressed his desire for a daughter and in the new video, netizens can see a surprised Irfan after seeing the result. The health department has asked the cybercrime department to remove the video from social media including YouTube. Besides asking for an explanation from Irfan, the health department has also asked police to suo moto take a case.
