'Guruvayoor Ambalanadayil' joins Rs 50 crore club in just 6 days; breaks Bramayugam's overall collection

The latest Malayalam movie ‘Guruvayoor Ambalanadayil’ featuring Prithviraj Sukumaran and Basil Joseph on Tuesday surpassed the high benchmark of Rs 50 crore collection in record time. Within just one week of the release, the movie has already pocketed Rs 24 crore from international collections alone. These stats predict the movie to easily surpass Prithviraj’s ‘Aadujeevitham – The Goat Life’, which amassed a Rs 59.5 crore overseas collection. Guruvayoor Ambalanadayil on its opening day collected Rs 3.8 crore from Kerala; the second-best opening day stats in Prithviraj’s career. As of now, ‘Guruvayoor Ambalanadayil’ has got in Rs 53.34 crore collection.

‘Aadujeevitham’ on its opening day raked Rs 16 crore making it the best opening day collection in the actor's two-decade film career. It is now a matter of hours for the new movie of Prithviraj and Basil Joseph to break the total collection of Mammootty’s 'Bramayugam', which stands at 58.96 crore.

The stats look rosy as Guruvayoor Ambalanadayil is expected to join the bandwagon of the recent Mollywwod blockbusters including ‘Manjummel Boys’ (241.56 crore), ‘The Goat Life’ (160 crore), ‘Aavesham’ (155 crore), and ‘Premalu’ (132.79 crore).

The movie with an ensemble cast, is now running in packed theatres, leaving people side-splitting for the inimitable situation-based humour.
