'No cure for UDF leaders' illness'; Mohammed Riyas responds to liquor policy scam allegations

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Minister Mohammed Riyas has responded to UDF's allegations related to the liquor policy scam. Mohammed Riyas said, "The illness of the UDF leaders is the annoyance of being ousted from power for the last eight years. We cannot treat their illness."

"Not even preliminary talks have happened on the liquor policy. Excise Minister MB Rajesh has been clear about the bribery allegations. UDF leaders are telling stories according to their imaginations on an issue on which not even preliminary talks have happened," he blamed.

UDF leaders had earlier alleged that Minister Mohammed Riyas was also involved in the liquor policy scam. UDF alleges that it was Mohammed Riyas who proposed changes in the current liquor policy and that the intervention was on his behalf.

UDF claims that all this has happened with the knowledge of the Chief Minister.
