"Vidhya Vahan'' mandatory for school vehicles; MVD with message to school authorities; parents can monitor school vehicles from now
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: 'Vidya Vahan' app will be made mandatory for parents to monitor school vehicles on mobile phones. It has been suggested to install this app developed by the Department of Motor Vehicles while bringing the vehicles for fitness tests.
MVD has started sending messages to the school authorities to register the mobile number of the parents in the Vidya Vahan app and inform the parents about it. This directive was issued last year but most of the schools did not follow it. This also applies to contract vehicles. 'Vidya vahan' is a system that can monitor where the vehicle has reached with the help of GPS.
