Five arrested for allegedly abducting and beating 16-year-old, stealing his iPhone

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Vizhinjam police has arrested 5 people, including twin brothers, for allegedly kidnapping and beating up a 16-year-old boy and robbing him of his iPhone. The arrested has been identified as Asif alias Mohammad Asan (20), Shahid alias Mohammad Hussain (20) living on rent in Ayanikuttivila House in Vettakulam's Channel Road Kara from Puthen Veedu in Kizhakkekara in Maranalloor's Kannankode, Haja aka Mohammad Haja (18) of Puthen Veedu in Thalanira in Maranalloor's Kandala Chirikode, Shehin (19) from Puthrakkadu Colony in Balaramapuram, and Dhanush (20), of Kulathil Veedu in Kuzhivila in Balaramapuram's Russelpuram.

The incident happened on the 25th. According to the police, the 16-year-old native of Uchakkada was abducted by a gang on a bike near Pulingudi. He was brought near Balaramapuram railway station, where he was beaten up and his iPhone stolen. Two bikes and a mobile phone were recovered from the accused.

Vizhinjam SI JP Arun Kumar said that they are investigating if there are more accused in the incident. Police said that the arrested persons are accused in various cases in Maranalloor and Balaramapuram police stations. The accused were produced in court.
