The Prime Minister reached Kanyakumari to meditate at the Vivekananda Rock Memorial from today to June 1. Heavy security has been put in place on account of the Prime Minister's visit.

Today marks the end of campaigning for the final phase of the Lok Sabha elections. The final phase of voting will be held on June 1. The Prime Minister is known to undertake spiritual journeys at the end of election campaigns. He had similarly meditated in Uttarakhand during the time of the 2014 and 2019 Lok Sabha elections.

Meanwhile, the Congress and the CPI-M have come out against the Prime Minister’s meditation programme at Kanyakumari. The Congress even wrote a letter to the Election Commission of India not to allow him to undertake meditation.
