Rajesh sentenced to life imprisonment for murder of girlfriend Sunitha

MAVELIKKARA: The accused in the case of murdering his girlfriend, who forced him to marry her, was sentenced to life imprisonment. He was also fined five lakh rupees. Mavelikkara Additional District Court (Two) Judge K N Ajithkumar convicted Rajesh (42) of Vettuveni Thamarasheril, Kizhakkathil house for murdering Sunitha (26) of Haripad Vettuveni Kizhakkadampallil house.

The incident related to the case took place on the night of June 18, 2013. Sunitha, who was married and had a child, was in a relationship with Rajesh. When her husband found out about the relationship, Sunitha left him and settled in her own house. Sunitha, who was pregnant, had an abortion at Rajesh's insistence.

After that, Sunitha insisted on marriage but Rajesh did not agree. Sunitha told Rajesh that if he wanted to marry someone else, he should kill her and leave. On June 18, 2013, Rajesh hit Sunitha's head against the wall when she came to his house.

The unconscious Sunitha was hung with a shawl to ensure her death. He planned to take the body to Sunitha's husband's house nearby and hang it there. However, after carrying the body for 300 meters, Rajesh was tired and left the dead body in the sit-out of Bethaniel Kunjumon's house.
