NEW DELHI: The name Chandrababu Naidu gained prominence at the national level as the BJP failed to get an absolute majority to rule the country. Soon after Naidu's Telugu Desam Party (TDP) secured a huge victory in Andhra Pradesh, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and leaders of the INDIA alliance had contacted Naidu over the phone. At present, TDP is part of the NDA alliance. Meanwhile, Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday said that the TDP will remain in the NDA.

"I will go to Delhi to participate in the NDA meeting. I am with the NDA. I'll let you know if anything else comes up," Naidu told media after his party's massive win.

The NDA alliance of TDP, BJP and Janasena (JSP) won a landslide victory in the Andhra Pradesh, bagging 21 parliamentary and 164 assembly seats.

With the BJP having to rely on its allies to form the government, Naidu and JSP chief K Pawan Kalyan will leave for Delhi in the afternoon to attend the NDA meeting. Naidu will invite Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and other BJP leaders to the swearing-in ceremony that will take place in Amaravati on June 9.
