THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Newly elected MP from Thrissur, Suresh Gopi has hastily decided to leave for Delhi after getting direct orders from Narendra Modi. It is now more or less certain that Suresh Gopi will be included as a union minister in Modi’s third term in Delhi.

While busily getting ready to leave, Suresh Gopi responded to the media saying “Modi decided, and I am obeying it. He has asked me to be present at his residence by 2:30 pm today.” Suresh Gopi will reach Bengaluru today and will take a chartered flight from there to New Delhi.

Earlier, there were rumours about Suresh Gopi not accepting the union minister rank due to the slew of film projects that he has committed to. However, the BJP central leadership took a stern decision and stood adamant that Suresh Gopi accept the offer.

As the first elected MP from Kerala, the BJP central leadership has decided to give the actor turned politician a cabinet status. Suresh Gopi who later stood resolute by his decision has now made a volte face after receiving a call from Narendra Modi.

Suresh Gopi has four big-budget films on the line. According to reports, these films will take at least two years to complete. The actor had already informed the central leadership of his concerns about the cabinet status hindering his film commitments.

Apart from the news, it is now rumoured that Kerala will get two ministers in the third Modi government in New Delhi. Departing from the usual tactics, it is now expected of the Modi government to pick a minority leader from Kerala to be made in as the next union minister. The BJP central leadership is now pondering over this move taking in mind the Manipur calamity which spread like wildfire in Kerala and was discussed much among the Christian community.
