Scenes from Delhi: No response from Suresh Gopi; George Kurian already in high spirits

NEW DELHI: Suresh Gopi and George Kurian; the two new union cabinet ministers from Kerala had to wait till Monday evening to know more about their departments. The list of Union Ministers' departments was released at 7:30 pm on Monday.

In the meantime, Suresh Gopi remained inside the hotel in Delhi while his family including his wife Radhika returned to Kerala by Monday afternoon. BJP leaders P.K. Krishnadas, M.T. Ramesh, Adv. B. Gopalakrishnan visited Suresh Gopi in the hotel.

As rumours spread about Suresh Gopi resigning from his assigned post to concentrate on movies, the actor himself took on social media to clear off all surmises and factoids being spread on news regarding his purported resignation. However even after the department was announced, Suresh Gopi remained secluded in the room without allowing a response to the media.

Meanwhile, George Kurian visited former minister V Muraleedharan’s house and was visibly indulged in work. He shared his hopes and vision regarding the new minister's post. BJP leaders from Kerala visited him while Kurian also allowed a response to the media. Minister V Muraleedharan later assisted George in working on the procedures.

George Kurian said that minority welfare is a ministry he is very familiar with. While serving as the Vice-Chairman of the National Minority Commission, he has travelled across the country to implement the schemes of the Ministry. Fisheries, Dairy and Animal Husbandry Departments will also come under George Kurian’s control. The Department of Fisheries is very crucial to Kerala considering the unsolved miseries of people settled in coastal areas of the state.
