‘Should start everything from zero’; Suresh Gopi takes charge in ministry of petroleum

NEWDELHI: Suresh Gopi takes charge as Minister of State (MoS) in the ministry of petroleum and natural gas. Union Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas Hardeep Singh Puri was with Suresh Gopi. Departmental secretaries also attended the function. Suresh Gopi said the Prime Minister has entrusted him with an important task. He also stated that he will work in the Ministry of Petroleum in a way that will benefit the people.


Just before taking charge, Suresh Gopi said
‘I know it's a big responsibility. I have to start from zero over that ministry. After learning all that, should start after understanding the things from the panel appointed by the Prime Minister. I feel like joining the UKG.


If the price of petrol is to come down, there must be a sufficient source. There are rumors that there is such a possibility on the banks of Kaveri and then in Kollam. A Malayali minister is sitting in this room. After examining the matter in Kollam and move forward, will definitely do so. Will discuss with the Prime Minister and make Kerala the center of Indian tourism.


Next year Thrissur Pooram will be conducted safely and according to the wishes of Pooram lovers. It is for that the people voted for me and brought me here, said Suresh Gopi.


Suresh Gopi later came to the office of the tourism department in Transport Bhavan and took charge of the tourism department. After assuming office, he told the media that he does not intend to be disappointed anywhere.


George Kurian, another minister sworn in from Kerala, will take charge at 11.30 am today. George Kurian was given the portfolios of minority welfare, fisheries, animal husbandry and dairy development.
