Rains to continue in Kerala; warning that people in nine districts should be careful today

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: IMD has warned that there will be rain in the next few hours in various districts of Kerala. During the next three hours, moderate rain with thundershowers at isolated places and gusty winds of up to 40 kmph are likely over Idukki, Thrissur and Wayanad districts. The Meteorological Department also informs that there will be light rain in other districts.

Yellow alert has been declared in nine districts today. Yellow alert has been issued in Ernakulam, Idukki, Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur and Kasaragod districts. IMD has informed that no one should go fishing in the Kerala, Karnataka and Lakshadweep coasts from today till the 13th. There is also a warning of strong winds and bad weather conditions along the Kerala-Karnataka-Lakshadweep coasts with a wind speed of 35 to 45 kmph and on some occasions up to 55 kmph.

Gusts of 35 to 45 kmph and occasional gusts of up to 55 kmph and bad weather conditions are expected over Kanyakumari Coast, Central Arabian Sea, South Bay of Bengal, Central Bay of Bengal, South Andhra Pradesh Coast and North Andaman Sea.
