Iron fruit plucker touches power line, housewife meets tragic end

KALLAMBALAM: A housewife met a tragic end when an iron fruit plucker hit an electric line. Shanta (60), a native of Charuvila Puthen Veedu, Karavaram Panchayat 8th Ward, died. The accident happened around 12 noon.

Shanta had borrowed an iron fruit plucker from her neighbouring house and went on the terrace of the house to pluck coconuts. She was going to return the fruit plucker after plucking coconuts. Shanta got electrocuted when the fruit plucker hit the line while she was walking to the neighbouring house.

When the residents checked, they saw Shanta lying on the ground holding the fruit plucker. After immediately bringing a plastic chair and breaking the connection with the fruit plucker, she was given first aid and admitted to the nearby private hospital and Paripally Medical College.
