KANNUR: Suresh Gopi touched the feet of Sarada teacher and sought her blessings as she held his hands and asked him to come inside the house. 'Saradas', the house of former Chief Minister and CPM leader EK Nayanar in Kalliasseri, witnessed happy moments of years of friendship on Wednesday.

This was Suresh Gopi's first visit to EK Nayanar's house after he became the Union Minister. Suresh Gopi gave sweets to Sarada teacher, the wife of EK Nayanar. Following this, Sarada teacher handed over 'Priya Sakhavu', her memoirs about Nayanar, to Suresh Gopi. Suresh Gopi left Nayanar's house after having lunch with Sarada teacher.

"Suresh Gopi was very close to Nayanar. He has come here several times. Whenever he came to Kannur, he would call me and say 'Amma, I want food.' Now, Suresh is not the old Suresh that he used to be. He is very busy. Yet, he came here amidst his busy schedule. I am glad that he came to visit me. Although Suresh is from a different political party, he is a person who does good things for the people," Sarada teacher said.

Suresh Gopi came to visit Sarada teacher after visiting temples such as the Tali temple in Kozhikode, Madayi Kavu temple in Pazhayangadi, Kannur and Parassinikadavu. He later visited the Mararji Smrithi Mandapam in Payyambalam and Kottiyoor temple.

"My comrade is not a hypocrite, has a loving open mind. That must be the reason for Suresh Gopi to be so attached to him. He calls him Acha. When he used to call me earlier, he used to ask me how is achan. He calls me amma. After his demise, he is giving me double love including the love given to him," Sarada teacher said.
