Kani Kusurti, the celebrated actor from Kerala is known for her willingness to speak her mind, regardless of the effect it would bring. And in the latest, the actress in one interview opened up about her review of the movie ‘Aavesham’ which many are talking about now.

In the interview, Kani shared her apprehension about women actors not getting the due screen space, unlike their male colleagues. Kani Kusruti stated that women are still lagging in all fields and struggling to get their rightful place in society.

‘How often do you see a woman character like Ranganna in ‘Aavesham’ ruling the movie for the better part of the film? In my understanding, only Urvashi Ma’am pulled off such a feat during her heydays in the field.

I am also against violence in movies and for the same I thought the movie ‘Aavesham’ could have been better. I am not yet programmed to watch scenes of violence in movies and it is the thing I loathe as an audience. I don’t have the metal strength for it." said Kani.

Kani Kusruti acclaimed international attention at the Cannes Film Festival for flaunting a bag shaped like a watermelon to declare solidarity with Palestine. The actor’s movie 'All We Imagine as Light' achieved a historic feat and won awards at Cannes, bringing joy to the whole country and especially the legendary film industry in India.
