THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Police registers case against former DGP Sibi Mathews on the complaint that the Suryanelli rape survivor's information was leaked in his service story. The case was registered on the instructions of the High Court based on the complaint filed by former SP, Joshua. The Mannantala police initially rejected the investigation based on the complaint filed by Joshua. Later the complainant approached the High Court. Following this, the High Court ordered to file a case.

The High Court ordered a case against Sibi Mathews to be investigated on the complaint that he disclosed the details of the victim in the Suryanelli molestation case. The case is in the background of revelations in Sibi Mathews' book 'Nirbhayam'. Complainant KK Joshua was the investigating officer in the Suryanelli case.

The High Court overruled the Thiruvananthapuram City Police Commissioner's report that there was no need for an investigation into the revelations in the book and suggested to file case. The court directed the Mannanthala police to re-examine the complaint of KK Joshua and take action. Following this, the police have registered a case against Sibi Mathews.
