Father's doubt comes true; friend arrested regarding Instagram influencer girl's suicide

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Male friend arrested regarding the death of the girl who was an Instagram influencer. Binoy, a native of Thiruvananthapuram Nedumangad, was arrested. Poojapura police recorded Binoy's arrest. The police were interrogating him since Tuesday morning. POCSO section has also been charged against the accused.

The father had said that he was suspecting another influencer from Nedumangad regarding the death of his daughter. He had also said that cyber attack was not the cause of his daughter's death. The mother filed a complaint with the police. The cause of death has to come out. The role of the influencer, who is a native of Nedumangad, should be investigated. He used to come home regularly but has not visited for two months. "We suspect he is the one responsible," the father had told in a news conference.

The police were proceeding with the investigation under the belief that cyber attack was the cause of the girl's suicide. However, the complaint and statement given by the family turned out to be crucial in the case.

Friends and others accused the girl of being attacked on social media after she left her friendship with another man active on Instagram. The suicide note of the girl did not say anything. The deceased girl was a plus two student of a school in Thiruvananthapuram city. The student tried to commit suicide inside the house last Monday. The girl died while undergoing treatment at the Medical College Hospital.
