Bengaluru native woman arrested with MDMA worth 50 lakhs

ALUVA: The police have arrested a woman in Aluva with one kilogram of MDMA worth more than Rs 50 lakh. Bengaluru Muneshwara Nagar native Sarmeen Akthar (26) was arrested from an area near the Aluva railway station by the Rural District Dansaf team and Aluva Police.

Sarmeen was nabbed during an inspection carried out by the police based on a tip-off received by District Police Chief Dr Vaibhav Saxena. The accused smuggled the drugs from Delhi by hiding them inside the heater. According to the police, Sarmeen came to Kochi to sell the drugs to the youths in the city. It is reported that she is a regular drug trafficker. After handing over the MDMA in Kochi, she used to go back by train the next day. The inspection was led by Narcotics Cell DySP V Anil and Aluva DySP A Prasad.
