LONDON: A 95-year-old farmer named James Steele was not ready to believe his eyes when he saw the ritzy Rolex watch he lost almost 50 years ago resting on his hands. James said he lost his watch in the 1970s. All the search back then proved futile and it was a vet who confirmed that the cows in the prairie might have gulped down the watch along with the grass.

James Steele broke the watch’s strap and lost the dial on the farm. He scoured every corner of the farm to get back his prized watch but failed. With the confirmation from the vet, James had given up on the search and replaced the watch with another. But now, the watch has been found after 50 years with the help of a metal detector. The efforts of Metal detectorist Liam King helped James recover the prized watch, which cost more than lakhs in the market.

However now, the watch has taken up an unhealthy colour, maybe the effect of cruising through the deep insides of the cow and the years of exposure out in the open. Cows have four stomachs to break down the food they eat. Whatever be, James is happy to have gotten back his prized possession but is not ready to do the needed repair work as it would cost him a fortune.
