PM Modi to visit J&K on June 20 and 21, to inaugurate/ lay foundation stone of projects worth Rs 3300 cr

NEW DELHI: Amid indications of Assembly elections being announced soon, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday and Friday. This is his first visit after coming to power for the third term.

Rs 3,300 crore worth of development projects will be inaugurated and the foundation stones of those to be started will be laid.

These include 84 projects with an outlay of over Rs 1,500 crore including road development, water supply and higher education infrastructure at the 'Empowering Youth, Transforming J&K' program to be held at the Sher-e-Kashmir International Conference Center (SKICC) in Srinagar at 6 pm today.

The foundation stone for the Chenani-Patnitop-Nashri section connecting Jammu and Srinagar is being laid for development of industrial estates, construction of government degree colleges etc.

Rs 1,800 crore JKCIP schemes aimed at improving competitiveness in agriculture and allied sectors will also be announced. The Prime Minister will also distribute appointment letters to more than 2000 people appointed in government service.

International Yoga Day

The Prime Minister will preside over the International Yoga Day celebrations at SKICS, Srinagar at 6.30 am on the 10th International Day of Yoga tomorrow, June 21.
