Couple finds dead cockroach on meal served in Vande Bharat; IRCTC imposes penalty
NEW DELHI: Concerns were raised again after a couple travelling in elite Vande Bharat train found a cockroach in the food served. The incident occurred in the rain servicing between Bhopal and Agra. The couple’s nephew Vidit Varshney wrote down the deplorable incident on X which soon grabbed attention from netizens.
'On June 18, while travelling from Bhopal to Agra, the cockroach was found in the food received by my uncle and aunt through IRCTC. ' In his note, Vidit demanded strong actions to prevent the incident from happening again.
The post was accompanied by a picture. Two days after Vidit shared the post, IRCTC came forward expressing regret over the incident and confirmed imposing a suitable penalty on the staff who distributed the food. IRCTC officials expressed regret over the incident and vowed to keep hygiene a core responsibility in the coming times.
