KSRTC's driving schools to start functioning soon in six locations; Rs 9000 to learn car driving

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: KSRTC’s highly awaited driving schools will soon start functioning at six locations in the state. The first school will start in Thiruvananthapuram this month. The track has been prepared near the Anayara station of KSRTC. The theory classes will be held at the Staff Training College at Attakulangara.

The driving school by KSRTC will take only a modest fee from candidates. It is Rs 9000 for car driving and heavy vehicle licenses while it will be Rs 3500 for two-wheelers. For both car and two-wheeler licenses, the rate will be Rs 11,000. The rate is the same with and without gear. There will also be theory classes while the Instructors will be KSRTC drivers.

Private institutes charge up to Rs 15,000 for heavy driving training and Rs 12,000 to Rs 14,000 for car driving. 6,000 for two-wheelers. KSRTC’s driving schools come at a time when the transport department has tightened the rules on the private driving schools in the state.
