Kerala Kaumudi's viral singer Ramesh Poochakkal gets opportunity to sing in upcoming movie

KOCHI: Ramesh Poochakkal, a carpenter who went viral for singing 'Vikaranaukayumayi' while working, has been given a chance to sing in a movie by producer Murali Kunnumpuram. The viral video, appeared in Kerala Kaumudi, captured Ramesh singing while working at Royal Furniture in Poochakkal. Impressed by his talent, Murali tracked down Ramesh's contact information through Kerala Kaumudi and personally congratulated him.

Murali promised to feature Ramesh's voice in his next film, 'Sumathivalav,' with music composed by Ranjin Raj. The story and screenplay are written by Abhilash Pillai and shooting is set to begin next month.

"When I shared my desire to include Ramesh with the crew and they heard the viral song, everyone was very happy. We are delighted to introduce this voice through our film," Murali said.

Ramesh expressed his gratitude, saying, "I didn't think it would come like this. Muraliyetan, who said that he would call me to sing in the film, has given me a wonderful opportunity. Thanks to Kerala Kaumudi for making this possible. The song sung in the workshop reached the world through Kerala Kaumudi."

Murali Kunnumpuram, known for the film 'Vellam' starring Jayasuriya, which is based on his life story, is thrilled to offer this chance to Ramesh.
