THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: MLA K K Rema on Saturday chastised the government’s ‘shrewd’ move to release three accused in the T P Chandrasekharan murder case, circumventing the High Court verdict. Stating it as a ‘contempt of court’ move from the government's side, KK Rema vowed to fight the government politically and legally.

Congress leader Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan lambasted the decision saying it was ‘against humanity’. He added that the accused are not eligible for leniency. A report has emerged that the government is moving to release the accused in the TP Chandrasekaran murder case. It is reported that the three members of the killer gang will be released by bypassing the High Court verdict.

TK Rajish, Mohammad Shafi and Annan Sajith are included in the list for leniency. Before the procedure, a police report about the three accused has been demanded. The letter was handed over to the police by the Superintendent of Kannur Central Jail. A copy of this letter has now been released. It is to be noted that all three were found guilty and were earlier sentenced to life imprisonment by the High Court without parole.
