Naxal attack in Chhattisgarh: two CRPF jawans, including a Malayali, martyred

RAIPUR: Two jawans of the CRPF Cobra unit, including a Malayali, were martyred in an explosion in Sukma, a Naxal insurgency-affected area in Chhattisgarh. Vishnu R (35), a native of Palode, Thiruvananthapuram and Shailendra (29) were martyred. Several security personnel were also reportedly injured. The incident happened today at three o'clock.

The attack targeted a convoy of security forces on patrol. Security personnel were in trucks and on two-wheelers. Vishnu was the driver of the vehicle. The incident took place within the Jagargunda police station limits. The police informed that the bodies were taken to a nearby camp. It is also reported that additional forces have been sent to the area and a search operation is underway.
